now , let's talk about the second gen of computers,

Second Generation :-

Time Period of second gen is 1959 to 1965

3 Sciencists named " John Bardeen , William B.Sockley and Walter.H.Brittian " invented transistors in the year 1947,

Scientists got succeed in replacing of  transistors in place of vaccume tube in the year 1948,
and new beginning era of the second gen .

However , scientist had their real invention the computer that made by transistors in 1953 ,

Assembly languages and punch cards was used in second generation as input devices ,

Computers names that built in second generation :-

1. IBM  7094
2. CDC  1604
3. HONEYWELL  400
4. CDC  3600  
5. UNIVAC  1108

• Advantages :-

1. Generate less heat than first gen .
2. Consume less electricity than first gen.
3. Less heavier than first generation.
4. Less Costly than first generation.
5. Gave results in MiliSeconds.

• Dis-Advantages :-

1. Still required high and constant maintenance
2. required cooling system to cool down the whole system .
