Details about First computer generation
Vaccume tube was used for processing of memory in C.P.U in first generation's computers ,
vaccume tube is like electric bulb,
I will give you the details of computer's first generation in this article,
We all know that computer is very important part of our lives nowdays,
10-15 years earlier, technology is like a baby in the world, and , now a 70% of business is developing in online world.
Computer knowledge is must in today's world , we have to update ourself by gain computer knowledge,
Let's focus on our topic , and discuss about computer's first generation,
- In this topic you will learn :-
- First generation of computer.
- How that build ?
- Who invented world's first computer ?
- What is the resources used in first gen ? (gen stands for generation)
- Photos of first generation.
- List of computers that built in first generation.
- Advantages of first gen.
- Dis-advantages of first gen.
Let's start ,
First Gen :-
Time period of first generation 1946 to 1959
J.P.Eckert and J.W.Mauchly invented the world's first successful first computer called "ENIAC".
ENIAC stands for
E :- ELECTRONIC
N :- NUMERICAL
I :- INTEGRATOR
A :- AND
C :- COMPUTER
ELECTRONIC NUMERICAL INTEGRATOR AND COMPUTER
Vaccume tube was used for processing of memory in C.P.U in first generation's computers ,
vaccume tube is like electric bulb,
However, computers vaccume tube were heat-up, and create massive heat,
Scientist or owner must had to change that vaccume tube frequently,
Or have some cooling system to cool down that computer and vaccume tube,
By all this, process and hardwork to doing, this computer consume more money to own ,
That is why the computers of first gen is only used by some huge organization or gigantic company,
Computers of first generation consume more electricity,
Magnetic drums was used for storing small amount of data in computers of first generation.
Punch cards were used in computers as input device.
Computers list that were built in first generation :-
- ENIAC
- IBM-701
- EDVAC
- IBM-650
- UNIVAC
Let's have some advantages and disadvantages:-
- Advantages :-
- Computers of first gen is also so productive and give results in miliseconds.
- Dis-Ad :-
- Very costly computers because of changing vaccume tubes frequently and giving some cool air to cool down.
- Non-portable because the computers that was very big in sizes and heavier in weight as 30 tons.
- Only store smaller amount of data .
- Computers give fake results or wrong result sometimes , means less productivity.
- Maintain cost is high.
- Consume more electricity.
That's IT.
Second Generation is going live in somedays,
have mastery remove mystery
